Jubilee Framers recently completed this custom framed materials display board for Murano, working with the team at Frank Developments to transform a large collection of architectural finishes into a polished presentation piece.
The finished board brings timber, stone, tile, carpet, fabric and other material samples together in one clean, cohesive display. Rather than presenting the finishes as a collection of loose samples, the custom framing gives the board the appearance of a finished design object.
Creating a Custom Display for Architectural Finishes
This project required much more than simply placing samples inside a frame.
Every material arrived with its own thickness, texture, size and weight. Our team carefully planned the layout so the different finishes would sit together naturally while maintaining the clean visual structure of the original design.
The completed display includes a broad selection of surface finishes arranged across the board, with the Murano branding positioned prominently above them.
We built the presentation around a crisp white custom frame, creating a clean architectural finish that complements the neutral material palette without competing with it.
Bringing Different Materials Together in One Display
Working with physical material samples creates a unique set of framing challenges.
Unlike a photograph or print, these materials do not share a common thickness or surface. Stone, timber, carpet, tile and decorative finishes all behave differently, so each element requires careful positioning and secure attachment.
Our team worked through the individual samples and assembled them into a balanced composition that feels deliberate rather than crowded.
The result allows clients to view and compare the finishes together while also seeing how the overall material palette works as a complete design scheme.
Custom Branding, Legend and Numbered Markers
The presentation board also needed a clear way to identify each material.
We created a custom legend panel using Helvetica Neue Light, matched the text colour to the Murano branding and coordinated the background with the main heading panel.
We also produced custom numbered markers to connect the physical samples with the corresponding material descriptions. The final design used cream markers with dark brown numbering, creating a subtle branded detail that remained easy to read.
These small details helped turn the board from a collection of samples into a complete professional presentation system.
