Some stories are too big for a flat frame. At Jubilee Framers, our custom Shadow Box Framing allows you to preserve and display three-dimensional objects, textiles, and heirlooms in a protected, gallery-quality environment.
By creating depth between the glass and the backing, a shadow box transforms a simple object into a striking piece of wall art. Whether it’s a delicate family heirloom or a heavy piece of industrial equipment, our Kelvin Grove workshop has the structural expertise to house it securely.
If you can dream it, we can likely frame it. Shadow boxing is the ideal solution for items with depth, such as:
Framing 3D objects requires more than just a deep frame; it requires engineering. We focus on:
Heavy objects (like a cricket bat or a metal tool) require specialized internal bracing. We ensure your items are mounted so they will never shift or fall, even if the frame is moved.
We finish the interior walls of your shadow box with matching matboard or timber liners. This hides the "mechanics" of the frame and creates a clean, professional "window" into your display.
We use non-invasive techniques such as hand-stitching, clear archival "sinks," or rare-earth magnets. We avoid glues or silicones that can outgas and damage your items over time.
Because shadow boxes have more internal space, they are more prone to reflections. We recommend Anti-Reflective UV Glass, which makes the glass virtually "disappear," giving you a crystal-clear view of your object.
Choose from acid-free suedes, linens, or custom-printed photographic backgrounds (via Prolab) to set the scene.
We can "float" different elements at different depths within the same box to create a dynamic, tiered visual effect.
Choose a traditional deep-profile timber frame or a modern 5-sided acrylic "bubble" for 360-degree visibility.
A shadow box is a curated stage for your most meaningful possessions. By playing with light, texture, and depth, we transform 3D objects into a narrative display that captures the imagination.
Our custom timber frames can be built to accommodate almost any depth. For extremely deep items (over 150mm), we may recommend specialized acrylic enclosures or reinforced hardwood frames to manage the weight and scale.
Yes, this is one of our most popular requests. We can create a "multi-aperture" layout where your medals are recessed into the box while photos and plaques are mounted flush with the matboard.
No. We prioritize conservation. Most items are mounted using reversible methods, meaning a professional framer can remove the object in the future without it being "ruined" by adhesives.

Don’t let your most precious three-dimensional items gather dust in a drawer. Bring them to our Brisbane studio, and let’s design a display that protects their value and tells their story.
Send us a message and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
