Corporate Picture Framing in Brisbane: MNG Athlete Portraits

A well-designed workplace deserves artwork that feels considered, professional and connected to the space around it. Jubilee Framers recently completed a corporate picture framing and installation project in Brisbane for MNG, transforming four striking black-and-white athlete portraits into a finished display for the company’s Fortitude Valley office.

The project combined A2 photographic prints, custom picture framing, white matboards, matte-black timber frames and UV70 UltraView glazing, followed by professional delivery and installation.

The result is a clean, contemporary series of framed portraits that works beautifully against the warm timber feature wall and creates an immediate visual impact within the office.

Creating a Strong Corporate Framing Display

MNG supplied four dramatic black-and-white portraits featuring athletes photographed in sporting environments. With strong contrast, dark clothing and atmospheric backgrounds, the images already carried plenty of visual impact.

Our job was to develop a framing treatment that strengthened the photography without competing with it.

We recommended a classic combination of:

  • A2 black-and-white photographic prints
  • White matboard surrounds
  • Slim matte-black timber frames
  • UV70 UltraView glazing
  • Professional delivery and installation

The restrained framing allows the portraits to remain the focus while giving the finished pieces enough presence to suit a contemporary commercial interior.

Choosing Matte-Black Timber Frames

For monochrome photography, a matte-black timber picture frame often provides an ideal balance between definition and simplicity.

In this project, the black frames connect naturally with the dark tones of the athletes’ clothing and the deeper areas within each photograph. At the same time, their simple profile avoids distracting from the portraits themselves.

The frames also provide a strong contrast against the warm vertical timber panelling in MNG’s meeting space. This contrast helps each artwork stand out individually while allowing the four portraits to read as one coordinated collection.

It is a good example of how custom framing for offices and commercial interiors should consider more than the artwork alone. Frame colour, wall finishes, lighting, furniture and the overall interior palette all influence the final presentation.

White Matboards Give the Photography Space

We paired each black frame with a generous white matboard.

The white border creates important visual breathing room between the photographs and their frames. It also gives the portraits a gallery-style presentation and helps separate the predominantly dark photography from both the black moulding and the surrounding timber wall.

When several framed works appear together, consistent matboard proportions also help establish a strong visual rhythm across the collection.

This becomes particularly important with corporate picture framing, where the artwork often forms part of a larger interior design rather than appearing as a single standalone piece.

UV70 UltraView Glass for a Clearer Presentation

We completed the frames using UV70 UltraView picture framing glass.

In offices, meeting rooms and commercial spaces, reflections from windows and overhead lighting can significantly affect how framed photographs appear. UltraView glazing helps reduce distracting reflections, allowing viewers to see more of the artwork rather than the surrounding room reflected in the glass.

Its UV protection also provides an additional level of protection for the framed work.

For photographic displays in bright corporate environments, upgrading the glazing can make a noticeable difference to the overall finish.

Professional Picture Hanging in Fortitude Valley

Once our framing team completed the four portraits, we coordinated delivery and professional picture installation at MNG’s Fortitude Valley office.

Careful installation was particularly important because the four works needed to function as a group.

The finished portraits now run along the timber-panelled wall of the meeting area, with consistent spacing and alignment creating a cohesive display. From further back in the room, the repetition of black frames and white borders creates a strong architectural rhythm along the wall.

The installation demonstrates how a collection of professionally framed photographs can transform an otherwise functional office wall into an engaging visual feature.

From Photographic Files to Finished Wall Display

One advantage of working with Jubilee Framers and our associated photographic printing services is that we can manage a project from supplied digital artwork through to the finished installation.

For the MNG project, this meant coordinating the photographic presentation, framing specifications, specialist glazing, finishing, delivery and installation as one complete solution.

For businesses, architects, designers and marketing teams, this streamlined approach can make commercial picture framing in Brisbane much easier to manage, particularly when a project involves multiple pieces or a fixed installation deadline.

Custom Framing That Complements the Interior

The finished MNG installation shows why framing should form part of the overall design process.

The monochrome portraits provide the drama. The white mats introduce space and contrast. The matte-black frames create definition. The warm timber wall then provides a completely different tone and texture behind the collection.

Together, those elements create a display that feels deliberate rather than simply decorative.

The final result gives MNG a professional series of athlete portraits that suits both the photography and the contemporary character of its Brisbane office.
