When Frank Developments needed a professional way to present the material selections for its ALBA and MAYA property developments, Jubilee Framers created two large, custom-framed finishes boards designed to organise, protect and showcase each collection.
These boards bring together stone, timber, tile, carpet, glass, paint and joinery samples in a clear, cohesive presentation. Rather than displaying loose materials separately, each completed board gives the project team, purchasers and stakeholders an immediate understanding of how the finishes work together.
Turning Architectural Samples into a Cohesive Display
Finishes boards require a different approach from conventional picture framing. Every physical sample varies in thickness, weight, texture and construction.
The ALBA and MAYA collections included a broad mix of materials, such as:
- Wall and exterior paint colours
- Powder-coated finishes
- Stone and tile samples
- Timber and timber-look joinery
- Glass and mirror
- Mosaic tiles
- Carpet
- Render and sheer-curtain selections
Our team carefully assessed the supplied materials and arranged each sample according to the approved architectural layouts. We worked through several updated sample schedules and cross-checked individual finishes so that the labels, numbering and physical materials remained aligned throughout production.
Custom-Built Deep White Frames
We constructed each display using a clean, contemporary white frame with sufficient depth to accommodate the different sample profiles.
The deeper frame created a consistent outer edge while allowing raised tiles, stone, carpet and other dimensional materials to sit securely within the presentation. The white finish also complemented the neutral palettes of both developments without competing with the samples themselves.
A recessed presentation area around the materials gave each board a polished, architectural appearance. This approach helped transform a technical sample schedule into a refined display suitable for a sales office, design studio or client presentation space.
Bespoke Printed Headers and Legends
We also prepared the printed artwork required to identify each development and explain the numbered finishes.
The finished artwork included:
- A 600 × 230 mm ALBA header
- An ALBA finishes legend
- A 600 × 150 mm MAYA header
- A custom MAYA legend
- Individual numbered identification dots
The ALBA and MAYA logos used intentionally different brown tones, reflecting the approved branding for each development. We reproduced the numbering style previously used on another Frank Developments materials board to maintain visual consistency across the broader presentation series.
Before production, we supplied updated artwork for approval and confirmed the wording, numbering, colours and overall styling with the client. This approval process allowed us to resolve differing versions of the MAYA finishes schedule before committing the final labels to print.
Solving a Late-Stage Layout Challenge
As the MAYA board approached completion, the client requested that we incorporate an additional printed legend. By that stage, we had already attached the physical samples, so removing and repositioning them risked damaging the materials and disrupting the finished layout.
Instead, our team developed a practical alternative.
We produced the MAYA legend as a 157 × 148 mm printed sticker and positioned it over the nominated wall-paint sample area. This allowed us to add the required information without dismantling the board or compromising the surrounding finishes.
We also applied the number-four identification label directly to the small Dulux powder-coat sample, ensuring it corresponded correctly with the approved legend.
Precision Across Every Material
The success of a finishes board depends on far more than its frame.

- Accommodate samples with different depths and weights
- Prepare and revise the printed artwork

The finished ALBA board presents 12 coordinated selections, while the taller MAYA board incorporates 17 finishes. Each material now sits within a clearly numbered, easy-to-reference layout.

The ALBA board was prepared for the company’s Brisbane office, while the MAYA board was designated for its Gold Coast office.
