Honoring Healthcare History: Custom Framing for Saint George Hospital

At Jubilee Framers, we recently had the privilege of working on a special project for Saint George Hospital, creating two custom frames to commemorate the opening of a new health service facility and preserve the legacy of an important heritage site.

Celebrating the Opening of St George Community and Allied Health

We designed and framed a striking brass plaque to mark the official opening of the St George Community and Allied Health facility, part of the South West Hospital and Health Service. The plaque features clean, professional typography engraved onto a brushed gold background and includes the official Queensland Government crest.

This custom plaque was expertly mounted in a sleek black frame, offering a timeless presentation suitable for hospital display. The final piece not only honours the contributions of Ms Karen Riethmuller Tully, Board Chair, but also enhances the prestige of the new health facility.

Preserving the Tibby Ryan Memorial Maternity Wing

In a second frame, we were entrusted with preserving historical elements from the now-retired Tibby Ryan Memorial Maternity Wing. This complex multi-piece shadowbox included:

  • A wide panoramic photograph of the original building

  • A printed history panel recounting the story of the maternity ward

  • Architectural elevations detailing the structure

  • The original copper signage plate

  • A salvaged timber beam from the site

We carefully arranged and mounted each component in a museum-grade custom frame, using archival materials to ensure long-term preservation. This piece now serves as both a tribute and a record of the hospital’s legacy, ready to be displayed with pride.
